Palermo is the capital and largest city of the autonomous island region of Sicily in southern Italy, located on the eponymous gulf facing the Tyrrhenian Sea. The Vucciria Market is one of the most popular, and it's the perfect place to sample some of the local street food. Don't forget to try the arancini – a Sicilian staple that consists of stuffed rice balls that are deep-fried and delicious.
